I have a psa ar-15 with the standard plastic handguard. I am wanting to make it more hunting friendly with a tubular free float hand guard. This is above my skill/willingness level. Is there a reasonable gunsmith you recommend I could send my upper to to be free floated?
A gun store in your area will probably be able to help you out. I have a buddy who was in the same situation as you.

He went into the gun store and ordered the free float tube from them, in return they installed it for free.

Make a call or two and you can probably have it done locally.
Rusty, its not at all difficult. If you can figure out changing a tire and are willing to get a few simple tools you'll be GTG, promise.

How close are you to Columbia ?
Where in TN are you?
Memphis
A bit far from my house, otherwise I'd be glad to change it for you. It isn't complicated. All you need is a barrel nut wrench, and some handguards come with one.
