Saw a guy with one at a public range a couple of decades ago. He liked it pretty well. I was shooting my Browning, also a Hornet.

You’re probably lucky to find it as opposed to the 25 repeater version. Someone here was complaining about the feeding of his the other day.

No magazine, so you can seat the bullets out as far as the throat allows, even the pointy ones. Save yourself some time and buy some Lil Gun, CCI 450 primers, and 40gr VMaxes, BTs, or Varmageddons. I run them at about 1.91” IIRC, just barely hanging on.

An alternative if the primers can’t be found is about 11gr of H110 and small pistol primers with the same bullet.

Get a set of Lee Collet dies. My brass has never seen the inside of a full-length die.

I have Lil Gun havent tried it yet will have to work up loads for it and keep them seperated from the CZ and Ruger. Thanks for the info. I have the 25 in 222 and have had no problems and it is extremely accurate.

What kind of info? I have one I bought about 10 years ago. Very accurate and has taken a ton of whistle pigs, although I prefer the 17 hornet nowadays over the 22 Hornet.

I have a Savage 40 I bought maybe 12 or so years ago. Absolutely love it. 40 V Max or 40 Ballistic tip seated out to the rifling, 13.0 Lil Gun and Win small pistol primer. Hornet's are addictive!!

We had a model 40 but sold it when we moved. It shot okay and definitely liked lighter bullets; 40 grains and lighter. Lil'gun worked pretty well for us.
