This auction goes live on the 4th, it is at 1200.CDN now, it is a heavy barrel, would prefer a std barrel, but I do like the 25/06 and Ruger no1 rifles, will have to see what it gets to.
Canadian Classification: NON-RESTRICTED

The wood is very good. The bluing is very good. The bore is excellent. The safety is not working properly.
Gun has not been test fired or inspected by a gunsmith. Action works correctly to the best of our knowledge. We do not clean guns and recommend a thorough cleaning before use.
At 1700.00 CDN now, don’t know if it’s worth it.
At 1900.00 now, seems someone wants it, not sure if they are really worth that much, it is a nice looking one though.
Years ago I had one of those varmint-barreled 25-06 Ruger No 1 rifles.
It was amazingly accurate!
Guy
Be sure to check the twist, back in that era Ruger had a nasty habit of putting 12 twist barrels on their Varmint models.
Well got it for 1900.CDN will be nice to see how it is when it gets here.
With the scope you did okay for Canada!
I have a couple like that and they both shoot great!

Turns out one outfit up here wants 829.99 CDN for the scope, so guess I did alright.

as did many other makers, 22-250 12 and 14 twist, now you see 1-7 to 1-9 , end result, shoot longer bullets
Congratulations!
I wish you much good luck and happiness with your new rifle.
I've got a1V also but in .22-250 Remington. has a VXIII 6.5X20X40mm on top.
Can't wait to see your results shooting it.

Ahh you missed my point, 25.06 is normally 10 twist. If Ruger holds to their norm then 12 twist can no longer shoot over 87 grain. Don’t give a hoot about the 22.250 as when originally designed it used a 16 twist. 😳

Did Okay? I think that was a heck of a deal.
Well rifle came, it’s a beauty but have to see why safety won’t work.
Nice rifle for around US$ 1380.00...well done.
Well thanks to the gunwriter forum I was able to get the info to fix safety, just had to adjust the sear adjustment screw and the safety works and functions correctly now.
I will have to try post some pics now that it is here.
IMHO with stock removed the corrective action should have been obvious.
Yup, tough to get one for under 1500 up here now, makes buying one in a cartridge you don't want, and rebarreling, pretty pricy. Price of new #1's has over doubled, in 2012, #1 was 999.00 Cdn, 1995.00 in 2019, last 1885 was 1400.00 in 2012, they are both in the 23-2500 range now, along with the knockoffs like the Pedersoli. Glad I bought what I did when I did.
This is the buttstock I had off while sealing up the wood
Nice! Made when they still put nice wood on the No. 1.
