I picked up a new Henry single shot today in 460 Bushmaster to use in IL deer season. I had previously ordered the weaver 82 scope base but discovered that I will have to remove the rear sight to install it and would rather not do that.

I did a forum search and picked up a couple of other options. One is the Leupold 56515 rail and the other I found in a picture from SCGunNut but was not identified.

I think that with the Leupold I will still have to remove the sight, anyone else use this base and know for sure if that's the case?

I'll PM SCGunNut to see if he can enlighten me on the other mount.

Anyone know of any other options?

I use the Leupold mount. It is indeed shorter (and better looking) than the Weaver, but I still had to remove the rear sight.
I like the Henrys, own a shotgun and a .357, but scoping them is a compromise due to the low comb and high hammer spur. I just remounted a Weaver K4 on the .357, using the Leupold base and Warne Mountain Tech Rings. The lack of any adjustment rings and the sensible eyepiece make it work pretty well, no spur needed, but I still have a Bear Creek stock riser, and still can’t get the cheek weld I’d prefer. It’s also heavier than I’d like, but that barrel is pretty dang beefy. Once I’m through working up an accurate load, I’ll probably dump the scope for a red dot or prism.
Can't remember the brand I used on my .357 Henry but it's Weaver style and maybe Weaver brand. I removed some of the base from the front back to just past the front edge where the ring meets the mount and Did Not have to remove the rear sight. It just barely cleared it.

I trimmed the back end of a base for my .410, which allowed me to get a Bushnell Lil P prism closer to my eye. It sits right over the receiver in front of the hammer. I had that one, a very early version, d&t at considerable expense. Now, maybe due to my nagging at Henry, they all come scope-ready.
