Looking to have a run of these made with upgraded, dark walnut and 24" barrels. The last run we requested was for the 303 British. This will likely be a smaller run. Just posting to gauge interest!

If the wood is acceptable, we will use it from the same source as the pics below, although few of the Rugers will get it quite as fancy:

If they come out looking like that, I will buy one.

The 24" A weight barrel would make for a very nice rifle; I think I would have one! I made that suggestion for the Boddington Leopard(a 24" barrel), but no success.

Bring it out in 7X57, and I'll be interested.

...what?

I concur. I like my 22in barreled 7x57 but a 24 would be....well....just a bit nicer.

And where might the supplier of that particular wood be??

Clay you scoundrel. I was just getting over my 7x57 need when you posted this. I am definitely interested.

Yes, as a 1-A it will have sights. We have the blanks in inventory now, use them on our Cooper rifles. Hopefully, Ruger will 'pass' our sample and agree to use our wood. price will depend on the grade of wood used. We have some blanks that are fairly plain but others that are almost as nice as the one in the Cooper pic.

I wonder if there will be any left over for the lwr 48? I'd rather not have sights on them, but I'd likely take one anyway.... smile

Similar to Canadians getting to buy IMR powder without it going through the USA first! Manufactured in Canada but shipped back to the US and then resold to us with all the markup and duty.

We'll see how orders come in as to how many go each way or to Australia, etc...

Ruger has done a pretty good job of keeping me broke with the different calibers in the 1A's lately. A little more in the hole won't make much difference. I would buy one, providing it's in a general 1A configuration.
Posted By: n007 Re: #1-A in 275 Rigby - 02/05/12
I would be interested. I first heard about the .275 Rigby in a book called "Return to the Marshes" some crazy Brit paddling through the marshes in Iraq with Arab boys, shooting pigs with his Rigby.
Posted By: interthem Re: #1-A in 275 Rigby - 02/05/12
Uh guys a 275 Rigby is a 7x57 Mauser. Ruger made a fair # of #1s and 77s in that caliber. In fact I have a "one of one" 7x57 77 roundtip, almost new with a factory (employee rifle) fiddleback maple stock for sale.

"The cartridge was originally designed by Mauser of Germany in 1892. It is also often referred to as the 7 mm Mauser cartridge, and in the U.K. it is commonly called the .275 Rigby. By whatever name one wants to use, the cartridge originally featured a 175-grain bullet of modern design over enough smokeless powder to drive it to slightly more than 2,300 f.p.s. In the last years of the 19th century, the accuracy and the power of this new Mauser cartridge were widely acknowledged."

The Cooper shown is no 7x57, looks more like a 22 RF.

the Cooper is a 22 lr, shown only for the wood as its the same as we hope to have on the #1-A. The 7x57 is, of course, a 275 Rigby, however, these rifles will be marked 275 Rigby(that's the 'cool' part)

The dickhead to whom you're wasting your time responding is Larry Root aka Oldman1942 aka BossLady aka mtdorarider aka pipercolt aka redwolves aka JawnHenry and many, many others. He has been flat ass booted from this forum a dozen or so times and counting. He is not a potential buyer of these rifles or any rifles, has no opinion of any value on any subject and is only deserving of the most vile and basest scorn possible. Do not waste your time or energy explaining any of the finer points of this rifle to the likes of Larry.
BT, You are likely correct about the yahoo. Try killing them with kindness, it drives them crazy!

Intertherm, Thank you so much for the information. I'm sure that few of the "gun nuts" whom frequent this forum had any idea what a .275 Rigby is (it is only something over 100 years old)and that the Cooper shown is a rimfire. jack
Well, it is odd that so many of these "expert gun nuts" were wishing for a rifle Ruger has already made in both the #1 and 77.

As for brickhead, the 10,000 dollar bet is still on the table and we will remind you of it come June.

Top one is a 275 Rigby #1 residing in the gun safe in WY. Want to up the bet to 20K brickhead ?

Wonder who's rifles these really are?

Larry has been known to steal pictures off of other sites and presenting these as his own.

Been caught several times.

He simply has no respect for the private property of others as evidenced by the pic stealing and even more so by his repeated defying of the wishes of Rick Bin that Larry leave his site.

Larry Root is simply a despicable human being.
Maybe it's not his fault, perhaps it was caused by the same mental disorder which so obviously affects all other aspects of his multiple personalities.

Here comes the invite to WY where Larry will show me what the Castle Doctrine is all about. After he sics his dogs on me.

Ditto what Grasshopper said! I would much rather have one naked, but I will take one either way.

Gee, I had NOOOO idea I already HAVE two .275 Rigbys crazy, good thing Larry Root clued me in to that! cool

By the way, hasn't that top rifle been presented as another caliber before? I was thinking that it had, but maybe not...

How many orders will you need for this special run, and how do I lock one down?

Thank you,
Todd

We have ordered enough to get the order done, we are just waiting for our wood sample to be approved. Once we hear from that, we'll start taking orders. Orders will be shipped from FFL in WA.

You know BT as a "process engineer" you would think basic English comprehension would be among your skill set. Obviously not the case in your case. As we have told you BEFORE, Larry is in FL until June and all his guns are locked in my safes.
When he return in June we will be contacting you to come and see that all the guns he says are his are in fact just that. We'll see if you show up with the $10,000.00..... odds at the club are not running in your favor.

Have to send Larry's #1 to Turnbull to get it restamped 275 Rigby. Doubtless will then be worth a fortune,,,,,,,

See you in the Spring. your pal, Roger

TFF Larry claiming he isn't Larry.

We know damn well it's Larry because only in Larry's mind does he have any friends.

A pathetic man trapped in a maelstrom of conflicting identities concocted by his diseased mind for companionship.
Jeez, just when I thought Larry Rootcheese was gone, here he is smelling up the place again. Thanks to BT and nsa for keeping him on the defensive. What an ASS
Just got positive confirmation that Interthem is, as we all knew, Larry POS Root.

At least that's what his mailing address says.

Jorge, Larry will never go away as the BSE has almost completely obliterated his brain. Thus his need for invented companions and friends on his descent into utter raging senility.

What an ASS!
nsa,

Interesting reference to BSE, mad cow disease. Those ole cows do get pretty crazy from what I've heard. Luckily, I've never seen one in person, don't want to, for sure. They waste away, stagger around, slobber and act crazy. No cure. Bad stuff.

Somebody on another thread asked you VERY politely just to put a coin on the buttstock of that rifle in that picture and take the picture again. I still haven't seen you oblige. ALL of your pictures have that same white line on top of the buttstock about halfway down. You must be a very lonely man,old OR young. Seek help.
As we have said time and time again, The $10,000.00 bet stands and any other doubters are free to put in their bets and show up as well. No one will as you are all windbags of hot air.
But fear not, come June you will be reminded by numerous posts from many of our members that you don't even know exist (yet).

Lies, attacks and name calling will not change that.

Amazing that you "experts" with your incredible research ability can't even find that the #1 275 Rigby was purchased right here off this site.

Larry is currently redoing the #1 375 H&H (also purchased here) in English red. He says when it is done, he'll post a nice picture of it with that day's Key West newspaper in the background. Far better than a "coin on the stock" which could be photoshopped in, in 5 minutes.

Hang in their boys, Roger See you in June........

First of all, while thanking you for your service, We are amazed you could call in Artillery but you couldn't find us in a town of less than 1500 souls.

Better luck next time.

Now, lets try and catch you up with the power curve. Yes we have many, many user i.d.s on this site put there by the members of our gun club. Any and all are free to be used by any member as is our common photo hosting site. There are 100s of posts you are unaware of.

The trolls are in a real tough spot because one of them called one of us a liar about his gun collection. That troll was called out with a $10,000.00 wager that he is trying to duck faster than a raghead in a C10 with an A10 on his azz. When June comes the fake Negro will be hiding under his "process engineer" desk.

So get the knot out of your O.D. skivies and catch on...okay ?

Why don't you try supporting the members and sponsors of the site by spending some money with them (over $10K in 2011) as we do and get off the troll wagon as it has four flat tires, very few riders and a dead mule.

When you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
Strange that all your various "club members" seem to have the same writing style, the same quirks and attitude. You're all experts on a wide range of gun related topics and all tend to ramble beyond where true experience would venture. You all sound alike, not too unlike a girl's sorority or maybe a Zombie clone... eek

DF
I went ahead and deleted your PM without reading it. Just a little FYI for ya.

I didn't exactly ask the whole town about you, just a few people at the BLM office and some of the gals at the local pizza joint. Nobody had heard of you. I didn't exactly care enough to go too far out of my way.
It is understandable that someone living where you do would be shocked to realize there are adults with all their teeth, world traveled, educated and literate. Now about the $10,000.00 bet, you want in ? The buses run all the way out here.
You say you're not Larry, prove it.

All the evidence, cashed checks, mailing address, syntax, senility, and subject matter tells anyone who looks that you are indeed Larry. You're not fooling anyone but yourself.

You've been repeatedly asked to leave and to not return by the OWNER of this site yet you still afflict us.
I guess a man has to have at least a tiny bit of honor to respect the private property of another person.
Honor isn't something you've had for a very long time.
A shame really as you probably had some when you were younger.

Larry would've stunk up the room with or without us. Even if everyone ignored him, Larry wouldn't have been able to control himself from making a lot of dickheaded replies and denigrating whatever integrity was in this solicitation.

I won't buy one, already have three 7x57s. Not sure how you'd ever sell something so marked. Sounds like someone just wants a looney rifle.

Uh, I guess you missed the part where these are going to come with higher grade wood and a slightly different configuration (24-inch barrel versus the 1A's 22-inch tube). But who'd ever buy that?

Guilty as charged. Loonyism is a state of mind. smile

Nothing wrong with wanting a Looney Rifle. I just think that it is very unlikely that Ruger will agree to manufacture a configuration like that.

Uh, it's pretty well a done deal at this point. Go back and read, and not just the parts you like. They're called LIMITED RUNS. Ever heard of that?
Nice try but you have no:
Cancelled checks
Mailing addresses
and all the other claptrap you say..... as we never bought anything from you and I doubt the the site sponsors (where we spend most of our money) are going to give you confidential credit card information....now are they ?

We'll see how much "honor" the fake Negro has when June rolls around and the $10,000.00 bet is called.

FYI, nothing needs to be proven to you, unless you want to show up at the Sublette County Courthouse with an attorney and a "show cause" order. Be convinced that the judge would quickly toss you out as you have no standing in any possible case and then, of course, our attorney would move to file a slander suit against you and all the trolls for your serial lies, threats and so on.

We're going to "retire" this user I.D. now, but you and the fake Negro will hear from us come June here and and all the sites we populate.

Just can't leave well enough alone can you ? Control, control, control that's the entire focus of your life. "Doesn't play well with others" !

Your endless character attacks bother us not at all, as we just consider the source

They almoast already did, if in very small numbers. Remember the 7x57 1AB? It lacks the Rigby monicker, the AH foreend, and the useless irons but... Maybe they could rename it the Ruger .284x57 and reisssue it?

Thank you,

We have ordered enough to get the order done, we are just waiting for our wood sample to be approved. Once we hear from that, we'll start taking orders. Orders will be shipped from FFL in WA.

Pardon my ignorance here, but how do we know when you will start taking orders? Do we just wait for another thread to be started on here and then contact you when that happens?

I am most definitely interested in ordering one.

I would love to have one. Just need to get rid of the sites. But, I know someone that can take care of that.
