I've heard nothing but good about mike bellm so I sent him my encore pro hunter barrel to cut down. I was just curious if anyone has used him and could give me an idea of how long it will take for me to get it back. On his site he is very insistent that he not be bothered about time. I don't want to disrespect his wishes so I thought I'd see if someone that has had the same type of work done could possibly fill me in. Thanks guys.
Had several contender triggers reworked and the work was very good and prompt, that was several years ago...

Thanks Ted. I hear he's very good at what he does.

I had two barrels rechambered to 308 Bellm by mike about 15 months ago. He stated about a month and it took a little over two months, no problem for me and excellent work. I believe Mike will "batch" his work, set up to do one thing like chamber work and then do all his chamber jobs. In this day and age it takes some efficiency to keep a shop going. You will be well satisfied with the work he does.

He does excellent work. He can be a touch eccentric so don't be thin skinned around him. All the work I've had him do for me has been first rate.

Thats good to hear. I can't wait to get it back.
My 308Bellm and my 357Maximums took about two months.

Kike lived an hour north of me in Grants Pass Oregon until he moved to CO this year. I did a lot of chatting with him, and if you have an open mind and ask honest questions he has a lot of good info to share.

I think any gun enthusiast should read his website, even though it is TC centric, anyone will learn something from it.
1. I've had a couple of trigger jobs done by Mike Bellm and was very satisfied with the work. If I remember correctly, there was a 2 or 3 week turn around. I used his kit for the last 2 trigger jobs and was very satisfied with my work as well as with the kit he supplied.

2. Mike is very generous with information. I consider him king of T/C trigger jobs.

3. I had one of my Encore barrels cut down by Mike and an integral muzzle brake installed. As I recall, it took several months and I wasn't extremely impressed with the work. I've had a couple of barrels cut down and brakes installed by T/C and the work was good and the turn around time about 3 or 4 weeks.

4. I wouldn't go the oversized Bellm hinge pin route.

5. I don't believe the good things he says about Bergara barrels. Not that I've ever tried one but the reviews I've read have some good and too many bad reports.

6. I don't share the angst he apparently does about Encore headspace deficiencies.
Grumulkin,

I agree with you on the Encore headspace deficiencies, a non-issue on most barrels. I do use the Bellm hinge pins.
