Just picked up a 1b and I am in need of rings. Does the quarter rib accept the same rings of the model 77? I realize they need to be the same height, but wanted to make sure it was the same mounting platform. Also, if I were to mount a Leupy 3-9x40, can I get away with lows or do I need the mediums? Thanks.

The 77 ring sets have two different heights, front and back. No 1s are the same height, front and back.

There may another size factor for you to consider. With my dimensions, I find the 3-9x40s do not allow adequate rearward positioning in the rings and thus force me to 'creep' the stock. Fixed 6x Leupolds work best for me and even 2x7 Leupolds give me somewhat better rearward range. But then YMMV.

All Rugers with integral mount systems -- Model 77s, No. 1s, Redhawks, Blackhawks, Mini 14s, Single Sixes, etc. -- use the same type of rings.

A Leupold 40mm objective will mount up on a 1B in lows just fine. This is what I have on my 1B in .257 Roberts.
I figured that was the case, just wanted to verify. Appreciate the help.
I too had to creep up on my #1s, but was able to solve the problem with the help of a Leupold Tech. I use only their scopes so I called and explained my situation and we came up with this.

Their 52307 Rings consist of 1 Straight and 1 Offset Ring. That is the only way they are packaged for sale. They suggested that I use two of the Offset Rings together since they are the same height for a #1. They were also kind enough to sell me just the Bottom 1/2 of two Offset Rings. It worked perfectly on my #1RSIs. I now have two mounted that way.

Give Leupold a call and ask for a Tech Rep and explain your problem and mention this conversation and the above Part Number to him and go from there...

Good Luck

Ruger also sells offset rings. I did not know Loopey was as well.

Yeah they do, in both medium and high, so if you want to mount the Hubble, Leupolds might be a better choice.

These are high Leupys on a 1V:
