I have a Thompson center Encore barrel made by Virgin Valley. The barrel is a 24 inch 25-06 octagon barrel in excellent shape. It has been hunted with but not shot a lot. I know, but I bought it new a number of years ago and have only sighted it in and deer hunted with it. No varmit hunting as we don't have any around here. I am after your opinion of these barrels and an estimate of it's value. I believe it was a nice barrel when I ordered it. It comes with a Virgin Valley scope base and forearm hanger, no sights. Thanks for your input.
Virgin Valley is now Match Grade Machine and is an excellent, quality made barrel. Actually, you should get rid of the damn thing. I'll send you my address and will be happy to take it off your hands. whistle

As to the value, I don't believe there is any collector value associated with it, other than it's a desirable cartridge and an interesting contour. I would buy a new MGM barrel before giving a premium for a Virgin Valley barrel, if that makes any sense. That said, if it comes with a forearm (matching the hanger bar), it's likely worth $400 or so.

My 2 cents...
Thanks for the information. About what I had in mind.
