It's been awhile since we had a dead critter post. I'll kick it off.

Canadian moose, No. 1B in 30-06, 180gr Partition. One shot right where it counts, then a very loooong day....

And it's taken another bear as well, no photos. I love hunting with this Number One!

Compared to the others posted, I'm a bit ashamed to post these but these are the only pics of "kills" I have with No. 1's. I just started carrying a camera in my pack in recent years...

This was the farthest shot I've taken at an animal, 513 yards. The rifle is a 243AI.

I love the well worn no 1.

Yup me too, too many no. 1's are safe queens. They are made to hunt with.

Wife and I used to take the boys out riding when they were small. This bunny with my #1 218 Bee.

[Linked Image]

One of three bulls my first #1 has accounted for….a 45-70. This was one of several moose I've had the pleasure of bring home solo; it was a balmy 0º F, give or take mad 25º. (You know it's cold when your hands burn as you sink them into the guts for warmth…..and the temperature difference between ambient air and the animal's insides are much more than 100 degrees. grin )

[Linked Image]

It's been out and about for a few miles….

Sorry, forgot single shots are really kids rifles! laugh

(The '218/son' shot includes the same kid who later did this as a just-turned 10-year-old: #1-A 270)
