So I just picked up a ruger no 1a 243 new production. I'm guessing it's a parts clean up gun. I'm thinking about a 6x36 leupold. Havent done the fixed 6 thing yet. It will be a double duty whitetail/coyote gun. Seems though it ought to work, good eye relief and tube length. any 1a 6x36 users want to chime in on there experiences?
I have a 6x36 Leupold on a 1A. Match made in heaven.
Yep, on my #3 6mm/Swift-6x36, Coyote killer!-Muddy
Probably going to be a short range rig as I like to still hunt in thick stuff, and if I every did any calling I'm sure that wouldn't be a super long range proposition anyhow. I'm curious to see how I like more magnification for threading holes in the brush. I have other no 1s set up with a 4x so just wanting to try something new on this one.
I also have the same scope on my HVA 7x57 deer rifle which I have used from 30 feet to 300yds, no problem. Muddy

YES IT IS!!
Mount in Ruger low rings & reverse the rear sight if necessary, go fill the freezer.
(Mine is a 7x57)
The 6x36 works well on the Number 1 with Ruger low rings; eye relief is OK.

It is a good scope on a No. 1 .243. Mine is a older Zeiss and it needs a bit more eye relief to avoid crawling up the stock.
I have a 6x on my Blaser K95, and I have barrels in 22 hornet, 6.5x55 and 300 Weatherby. I never bother with another scope on the single.
I have a 2x7.
I have shot deer some seasons with it left on 2X and some seasons with it left on 7X.
Either one works for short range or long range on deer.
I have a Loopy 6x36 on my 1A 7x57. It works f for me.
