My #1 '06 is so old, it's technically not a #1B. But, I've owned two Bs over the years - one in 25/06 and one in .338 Win. Mag. With my handloads, the 25 tied my best 100-yard group to-date. The first two shots went into one .257" hole - with a witness! The witness called bull so put a Sharpie line at opposite edges of the single hole. We went back to the bench, and the 3rd shot cut the tiniest crescent moon sliver out of one of those lines. The hole measured maybe .259" across. The .338 did 1/2", 3-shot groups every time with 210gr. Partitions. All I did with these rifles was take them out of the box and put a scope on them. No other "accurizing" work was done {although I'm pretty darned good at the loading bench
}. As someone mentioned, that is not a light rifle. Kind of bulky too. Recoil should not be an issue.
