Some of you may see the DVD at Wally Word like I did and pony up the $9.

Colditz was a maximum security German POW camp for high escape risks, in an old German castle

The cover shows a dead guy surrounded on three sides by prisoners in formation, German guards in attendance.

A Brit production (Granada TV), it looked promising.

It does have some cool German vehicles in the movie, but otherwise a flop. Colditz here is mostly a prop for a love triangle involving a British girl (in the Blitz) and two British guys, one who escaped, one got took to Colditz. People escaping from Colditz as necessary to advance the plot, the exact details of HOW these men escaped every time being a tad glossed over.

Ain't even any interesting weapons.

Too bad, the real story is a pretty intersting tale.
Hollywood does that, takes a fascinating true story and bungles it up, just like they did with "The War of The Rats".
