Kevins book is now available in electronic format. A number of EBook stores now have it available for $24.00.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Game Ranger, Special Force Soldier, Professional Hunter and Personal Security Officer Shadows in an African Twilight is a collection of fascinating stories about a life of adventure spread across nearly four decades in Africa and culminating in Iraq.

Many of the stories are not for the squeamish and tell of the aberrant behavior of man-eating lions and killer crocodiles, stories of courageous Rhodesian game rangers who while fighting to preserve the wildlife of a beautiful country were also fighting against brutal terrorist forces.

The author also relates some of his experiences as a pseudo counter-terrorist operator in the elite Selous Scouts during the Rhodesian Bush War, and covers many of his experiences as a professional hunter in the exciting world of African Safari.

Having also served in the previous South African era black homeland of Ciskei he offers an often-humorous insight into life during the wayward period.

This exciting book of adventure ends with a look into what it is like to work in war-torn Iraq in the specialised field of Security Escort Teams.

Sounds like I need to "catch up" to how smart my phone is. That's a great idea. I took a friend to a training up in Spokane a while back and she had her Kindle to read from.
we have a Kindle, Nook, Dell tablet as well as our smart phones(Darla is a computer/tech geek)....Darla prefers the bigger Nook and Kindle, i prefer my smart phone cause its just easier to hold and deal with for me.....you can download Nook, Kindle and other e-reader apps for it for free.....

Darla would be on my "speed dial" if she lived here. Our tech guy is very good at what he does but recently diagnosed with leukemia. Thanks for the "free" tip.
no problem.....and if you like old school classics its worth checking out The Gutenberg Project for free books on about any topic:

http://www.gutenberg.org/

ive found a number of old African and Indian hunting books that i couldnt find hard copies of without paying an arm and a leg on it....
I, too, have a novel available in Kindle format but am uncomfortable about promoting it here on the 'Fire, as I don't wish to hawk it on Rick's dime. Advice, please?
for what lil you guys make on them i wouldnt worry about it.....one of the other guys has promoted his two novels a bit.....so long as you dont go over board on it Rick likely views it as no big deal...but you can PM him to ask....
Thanks for your sensible advice. You're right: I make virtually nothing on my book, as the Amazon price is only $2.99. If anyone is interested in taking a look at it, please go to Amazon.com and type my last name, Waldrip, into the search box. It will take you directly to my novel, "The Guards Themselves," where you can read the reviews and the first two chapters for free. If you like what you read and decide to buy a copy, you don't need a Kindle, as it can be downloaded onto any electronic gizmo: computer, phone, tablet, etc.

Thank you.
Finally finished the OPs book....excellent and well worth the read....highly recommend it
