Battle of Outpost Keating in Afghanistan, 2009 by SSGT Clinton Romesha. Romesha won the Medal Of Honor for his participation. A lot of detail on the location, the soldiers who were there and the battle. Good read IMO.

There is another book about the battle at Outpost Keating, The Outpost by Jake Tapper.

Thanks, just read some complimentary reviews on it by some of the soldiers that served there.

The officers who decided to put Outpost Keating where it was in the first place should have been brought up on charges, as should the officers who kept it there, even after it's reason for being at the bottom of deep valley was no longer valid.

The site for COP Keating was picked as the base for a Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) because it was accessible by road, at least in theory or on GOOGLE EARTH, but the road was too narrow for anything larger than a HUMVEE, so the PRT was never stationed there. COP Keating was named after an Army officer who died when the truck that he was driving fell off a cliff and into the Landay-Sin River. He was driving because he felt that the road was extremely dangerous and being a leader of men, he put himself in harms way and lost his life, rather than risking the lives of his subordinates.

There are lots of pictures available on the 'net that show how indefensible COP Keating was.
