If its true... then greed got another one. I think thats a negative of all the stupid hunting shows too... you just have to wonder once in a while, since those are never your typical I didn't see squat shows, what do they have to do, to make the videos work.... illegal would NOT surprise me at all.
I hate seeing these types of things. Like hunting doesn't have enough enemies already? If found guilty I hope they give him the max punishment allowed. People that do this crap make us legal hunters all look bad.
If found guilty, I hope they bring the hammer down on him! What was he thinking, he had a really good thing going. I bet his sponsors are freaking out.

thanks for the laugh!
Wow, man hasn't even gotten his day in court, and you all are assuming he is the devil? I will also state right now, I am not defending him, condoning what he did, or do I really care if he goes to the slammer or not. What I do know is, he has done more for Waterfowl than anyone else in recent time as far as drawing attention to the sport, and at the same time, refused to be "politically correct", and really didnt give a shat if he screamed "KILL EM" when it came trigger time. He has been blood in the water for every liberal nut that lives in the state that he runs his operation in, and they have been after him for years. From what I understand is, he did nothing more than I bet every single waterfowl hunter here has done before, and that is let others shoot others' limits. I have shot and filled others' limits, others have shot and killed game to fill my limits, and I have been on guided waterfowl hunts that have been run the same darn way. With that said, he also should have been a helluva lot more careful, knowing that they were after him, and ran his ship TIGHT, but he didnt. That isnt really his style, his style is the same as the guy sitting next to you in your basement bar enjoying a cold beer talking about old hunting stories that make both of your guts ache.
I guarantee you its more than letting someone shoot your limit. If you read into what he is accused of its what gives the tree huggers more ammunition against the hunting world.
The federal agencies involved wouoldnt spend years putting an investigation together for shooting someones limit.
No matter how you look at it, agree or disagree this still is a black eye for waterfowlers across the nation.
Bad publicity hurts...

You seem to be new here so here goes, I would be careful of condoning breaking the law on a public forum.
No I have never shot another mans limit or let another man shot my limit. Maybe that is how you roll and if so you are a bad apple in the bushel. It is a big deal to me that any infraction is committed, we can't afford to give the anti's anything to use against us. Also the Fed's will build a case on shooting others limits. They did it here in CT a bunch of years back cost the guide his truck, boat, and if I remember right 10 years Fed prison time.
Don't know the guy, don't care to from the sound of it. I have a lot of family that hunt waterfowl(I have, but don't care for the meat, so I don't hunt them). I also have an uncle who was royally screwed over by the feds on a (single)goose charge. He is a convicted felon because he simply gave an unclaimed goose to a meat hunter whose goose was shot to hell, for just the payment of the processing fee that the other hunter left unpaid when he neglected to claim his goose. Next season, here comes said hunter wanting to know where his goose is. Feds got involved, my uncle got a felony but managed to stay out of jail. Gotta wonder about a country that kills 53 million babies but hangs a guy who breaks 1 wildlife regulation.

I hate hunting shows, and not fond of sport hunting, but to each their own. Obviously the guy is known, so somebody likes to watch his shows. And he is innocent until proven guilty. As far as ammo for the anti's, give me a break. They will make it up out of thin air the way they always have, and the sheeple will buy it every time. They continue because for far too long American men have sat on their asses with the attitude that as long as it doesn't stop them from doing what they want, who cares? And many will sell their best allies down the river as if it will appease the anti's for a bit longer, as in the hunters who say, "who needs an "assault weapon". The .gov/anti-gunners/anti-hunters/pro-abortion/anti drilling/anti-Americans are all the same people, guys. We better wake up and realize that we either all hang together or we will surely all hang separately.
Well I guess I will hang separately with the folks that choose to follow the laws.
Montana I am with ya.
See I won't be hanging alone.

Slippery slope - charging hunters with felonies for game violations. I can't count the number of times I've been hunting with a group and we've been unsure as to which one of us actually put the bird down. If that's all this guy did then I would say this is nothing short of a witch hunt.
There is a little more to it than just shooting n someone else's bag limit in the blind.
According to what I read there were bag limits signed for by people that were not even present, plus some stuff that pertains to our Canadian/U.S, laws.

I just said I wasnt condoning what he did, and also, he hasnt even had it date it court, so nobody knows exactly what he has done, but up to date now, all I have heard is rumors about limits being filled by hunters in the same blind. I dont know what kind of 'fowl hunting you guys do, but if you are into any decent amount of birds, and there are four guys in your boat, and you have constant action with the dog jumping out of the boat and climbing back up onto the ramp bringing in the birds, it is very difficult to tell who shot which darn bird. I am not condoning breaking the law, we dont shoot before hours, we dont shoot above our limit, but if a warden came up to us and asked who shot which bird, it would be very difficult to tell him which. And I will be straight with you, if I knew I had shot my 6 already, but my buddy next to me drew feathers out of a bird and it kept flying, I sure as heck would be giving him some of my own steel, but that is just me, I would rather see a bird fold than coast 100 yrds to never be found or starve to death because it cannot fly.

Bunny, I dont disagree on what you have said either, but if you read the reports that are out there this investigation has to do with shooting over the limit way over at times, the lacy act violations, to many shells in the gun, I have also heard wanten waste, and the list goes on.
The problem I have if you ever watch his videos is when a dead bird is falling to the ground how many times have we seen him shoot the bird 2 or 3 more times until it is blown apart. To me that would be like walking up to a deer lying on the ground dead and shooting it 5 more times whats the purpose that isnt the type of sportsman I am.
The guy was out of control with all the hype into waterfowling and has rubbed alot of the waterfowling hunters the wrong way.
I have seen first hand the sucess of the hunt being measured in limmiting out and not the fun sharing time with fellow hunters or your best friend ( dog of course ).
I highly respect what you just said, and I in no way agree with everything this guy does, like exactly what you described, when he blows the crap out of a bird for the giggles of it. I guess I haven't done as much research as I should have, because I guess, all I had heard was his side, from his friends, and they claim it is only about blind mates shooting others bag limit, and I don't care what the darn book says, my morals outrule it every time, if I shoot my 6, and my buddy wounds a bird, I will shoot it every time. Am I a criminal because of that? So be it. But back to the subject, if he did indeed do worse stuff, he should be punished just like the rest of us would be, but from what I have read and heard myself is this is a witch hunt because he rubs the liberal bleeding heart crowd wrong. Just so happens his club is in a very liberal state, and this is the same crowd that thinks 30 round clips cause murders rather than the poor guy behind the trigger, and that believe the murder of innocent children that don't have a say is ok, but my buddy finishing off my wounded duck is a felony? Get real people, get fricken real,

I could care less if a guy finishes someone else's bird, but I have a very large problem with the over limits being claimed by people not on the hunt, shooting geese in a park with a pellet gun and taking their bands then bragging about them on a call lanyard, and all the other crap.
I really don't think that a person being charged under the Lacey act was done so in a knee jerk reaction or simply by some one on a with hunt.

I hate these kind of shows anyway. Give me Benny Spies or Tread Barta anyday.

I love Benny he is hilarious.
Those who think Foiles's hunters were just filling each other's limits might read this:

http://www.nodakoutdoors.com/media/Indictment.pdf

That is a pretty disgusting indictment.

Park shooting geese...

When he is found guilty, He needs to be locked up and no one that hunts should tolerate that kind of behavior. I'm glad they caught him.

Sounds pretty bad - seems that this happens to those engaged in hunting as a commercial enterprise all too often.
Posted By: BWalker Re: jeff foiles in big trouble - 01/20/11
I would say if hes convicted on half that stuff he is fooked.
Posted By: hotsoup Re: jeff foiles in big trouble - 01/20/11
clearly, this court action is not at all good for hunting. and all this for more money and fame.

This is going to cost him big!!!
WOW
Hopefully Alberta will get a crack at him for his crimes here as well.
