I love to float hunt ducks, I have mixed results, some years are good, some not. What are your modes and methods to be successful?

Canoe, late in the season when the small ponds and smaller lakes are frozen. Keep your ears open and if you hear anyone, especially geese, get out and sneak up on them. Also, stop to check oxbows and backwaters - sometimes birds like to hang out there and let you just drift on by them.
Thanks!
Advice,,, keep a dry bag with clothes and fire starter with you at all times when float hunting. And keep your cell phone in two zip lock bags so it won't get wet. Don't wear cotton. I learned this the hard way!

I used to hunt a lot from these kayaks. It was a hoot.

These days I can hunt geese outside my house so I have become very lazy about using the boats.
