You fellers into action shooting would have loved to see what I saw today. At the range this morning a guy had a Colt Lightning 38-40 that looked nearly pristine. I'd never seen one close up and didn't have any idea as to their worth. I did a bit of research and found out they are not cheap but has any Colt ever been?

I have a pristine USFA 38-40 Lightning. Neat gun.

Besides there being replicas available, a few years back, just prior to the replicas showing up on the scene, I encountered several that had been heavily redone. I don't really know why. You are correct, they aren't cheap.
