Great band, great tunes. Saw them in ‘79 open for Styx

RIP

673;
Top of the morning to you my friend, I hope the weekend went well for you all.

Thanks for letting us know that, RIP Miles.

If I'm not wrong, I saw them in May '80 when they seemed to play everywhere.

The opening act was Red Rider who just had White Hot climbing the AM radio charts and did a great job.

April Wine seemed to be tired and disinterested that night, which must happen when one is playing night after night.

Anyways, that was a long, long time ago now sir, but thanks for stirring up some memories for me.

All the best.

I have a friend here who is an avid fan of April wine, several years ago he was at a concert in Winnipeg IIRC, he said Myles Goodwin pointed out my buddy in the crowd and tugged his shirt because........he had the same shirt as Myles had lol.

I didn't realize they had formed in 1969, underated in my view.

Dwayne

Funny thing, I saw them again in June 1980 are Super Jam in Busch Stadium in St Louis MO. As you said they were everywhere. Right on the verge of hitting it big.

My favorite I believe is Short Down, I don’t know that it was released on a U.S. album

BoltactionMan;
Good evening, I hope the day down in East Central Missouri behaved and you're well.

For sure when I was trying to find when it was that I'd seen them, I was shocked at the schedule they kept as they were playing pretty much every night of the week and making a few hundred miles a day.

As an aside, it was perhaps Red Rider's first big opener for anyone too and they were big on western Canadian radio first. If I'm thinking of the right story from Tom Cochrane, they had to choose between gassing up the van to get to Vancouver or eating. After they played to a fairly packed house in Vancouver about 5 days after I saw them, their careers took off.

Back to April Wine, I believe my favorite album and song for that matter was "the Whole World's Goin Crazy". Was big out in western Canada again anyways.

RIP once more Miles, thanks for adding to the soundtrack of my youth.

Thanks for the post sir, much appreciated and all the best.

Dwayne
Wow, April Wine was definitely one of the soundtracks of my childhood.

I have so many great memories with their music playing in the background.

Legendary for sure, never got the recognition they deserved, IMO

Pretty sure he is jamming with his friends in Heaven.

RIP Myles, you were great!

Just watched this so I thought I would share it. Self video don't know when.

An 18-Wheeler, a CB radio, a Canadian rock band, and some chunky Canadian girls. What more could you want??

Life is short hey?.....seems not that long ago we were sitting around as teenagers drinking beer and smoking fatties listening to these guys.
No kidding 673, seems just like yesterday hey, and time is only going faster as you age.
