Three hours into a week long moose/elk hunt and we had our moose down. Not a big bull, but very very tasty!
SS
Well done.
That leaves a full-week-celebration of Alley Kat and Wild Rose?
Haha. We chased elk for the rest of the week, albiet with a lot of siesta's in the middle of the day.
SS
Excellent!! Love those orange colored antlers too. Congrats to you and your crew SS!
Sam
Congratulations on the moose down some good eating there.
Now which is you in the picture, which one did the shooting, with what and how many times. Details man details. Cheers NC
I'm on the left and it was my tag. I used a Ruger M77 in .30-06 with 180 grain Nosler Partitions.
We walked up to an old oil well site and heard a cow moose call. This bull then ran up out of a depression where he was drinking water. Two rounds through the lungs, both exiting on the other side. Range was about 150 yards or so.
SS
Congratulations! And I agree definitely tasty.
Three hours and moose down, wow. I spent over three weeks looking for a shooter. And did not find. To be continued next season.
Do you have antler restrictions or is it "any bull"?
And, congrats!
No restrictions here. It's a draw system for bull, cow, and calf depending on the zone. I had to build priority for 5 years for this zone and I was one of the few "5's" that got drawn.
SS
Lotta smiling going on. What do you mean by build priority?
SAcharlie
He is referring to building points, i.e. it took 5yrs to get drawn. Cheers NC
Thanks for the answer Sam. Congrats!
Congrats to you. Nice eating bull. Enjoy.
Good shooting Sam!
No luck on the elk?
Cat
Sam....you OFFICIALLY SUCK!!!!
Hey Cat. No elk. Actually not a lot of other critters. 3 mule deer and a young black bear trying to eat our moose on the meat pole the morning we were packing up.
ET, sorry for our success... Haha.
SS
