Fellow 'Fire Canucks;
Good day to you all, I hope this finds you all doing well in your respective home ports.

As I'm finishing up my last cup of coffee before heading up onto the mountain to the east of us with my BIL who's out from Nanaimo and hoping for a whitetail or mulie - I thought I'd take this opportunity to send out my best wishes to you all.

So whether you're reading this as a Canuck or one of our brothers from other lands - I'll say Happy Thanksgiving to you all and all my best to you and your respective families.

May this be a blessed and restful long weekend for you all and if you're hunting like we are - then it's my hope your hunts are successful in every way.

You beat me to it Dwayne.
I had the same thoughts, and wish could be there to help with the holiday.

Is it Thanksgiving time up there now? I wish ours was celebrated earlier!

Happy thanks giving folks, grouse this morning didn't pan out but I have 3 ducks to clean from last night and after I do that I may go for another duck hunt tonight. It may be time for my 90 year old Winchester model 12 to make a return to the blind.

General deer doesn't open until the 27th. So my deer hunting will need to wait.

Hope all of you are celebrating a very happy Thanksgiving this year.
Our family has much to be thankful for.
We celebrated our oldest sons wedding this June.
In July our youngest son fell critically ill but is making a fantastic recovery and should soon be home. We have found out that his girlfriend is an incredible young lady who never left his side when he was critical for many weeks.
Our middle son saved his brothers life when he became ill.
Outdoor time has suffered this Fall do to all this but we are all looking forward to the future as growing family in a positive manner.
I hope each and every one of you takes the time to reflect upon what you have to be thankful for. Oh yeah, don't eat much turkey, you need the left overs for sandwiches!

An old hymn admonishes us to "Count your blessings, count them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done."

I wish a very happy thanksgiving to our Canadian friends. God's best to you all.

troutfly;
Thanks for sharing a wee bit of what your year has encompassed for your family sir, I'm glad to read things are on the upswing for you all.

Truly, although it's been a trying year here for us as well, we've got a multitude of blessings to be thankful for and it is a fitting time to remember that.

Again I'm heartened to hear your family situation is improving and all the best to you and your family this fall.

A good day to all again.

Dwayne, you make me think of something Dr. Norman Vincent Peale said in his "Power of Positive Thinking".

To the effect that even an airplane needs turbulence to fly.
If is not there, it needs to be made.
It seems people need some turbulence as well to "fly".

Thanks Dwayne.
It has indeed been a challenging few months.
We have gotten very familiar with the Foothills Medical Center's Neurology ICU ward and the Brain Injury Rehab Center in Calgary since the end of July. (A long story for another time) A fantastic center if you require that sort of help. So yes, much to be thankful for. We even had him home for an early Thanksgiving dinner a week ago and this weekend he spent with his girl friends family.
I hope and pray each and everyone on the "Fire has a great Thanksgiving. We live, work and play in the Best country on earth.
