BowDog;
Welcome to the 'Fire sir from the hot and smoky southern Okanagan.

If this cut and paste works out, here's a list of mainland BC gunsmiths.

Dave Jennings - Pritchard (between Kamloops and Chase) http://www.jenningsoutdoors ports.com

Corlane Sporting Goods, Dawson Creek BC 250-782-211 http://www.corlanes.com/

Chris Wilcox at Wilcox Gun Works in Cherryville BC (he has a gun-stock copying machine.)

Mitch Kendall Box 3042 Kamloops BC V2C 6B7 250-579-9098

Robert Stahl, RSL Smithing Langley BC 604-807-4678

Patrick - Pro-Tech Guns South Okanagan. 250 809 1792 fax: 250 493 7763 http://www.pro-techguns.com/webpages...cton_BC__1.cfm

Martin Hagn who is in Cranbrook http://www.hagnrifles.com/

Ralf Martini - http://www.martinigunmakers.com/history.htm

Weber and Markin Gunsmiths -4-1691 Powick Rd. Kelowna Ph. 250-762-7575

Black Art Rifles - Terry L'Heureux - http://blackartrifle.com/?page_id=2

Bits of Pieces - Barry Jensen - 604-946-6168 - http://www.bitsofpieces.com/
#5B Tilbury Center, 7621 Vantage Way, Delta BC, Canada V4G 1A6

The following is a quick rundown of those I've either dealt with or have first hand knowledge of.

I have dealt with the gunsmith at Corlane's and though he's not done work for me, they have done work for folks I know and the report was positive.

I've had Chris Wilcox do 5 rechamber/rebarrel jobs for me and I've always been happy with the work done.

Chris Weber at Weber and Markin has a good reputation locally as does Terry L'Heureux at Black Art Rifles and Patrick Smith at ProTech Guns.

Ralf Martini and Martin Hagn are both world class gunsmiths judging by the quality of work they produce. They'd likely be pretty backed up.

Lastly I've dealt with Dennis Sorensen on the Island on a trigger and was very pleased with every part of the transaction.

The ones I've omitted are simply smiths I've had no direct or even indirect dealings with so don't take that as anything else please.

If you are hoping to get an Alberta smith for the job there are a few listed on canadiangunnutz and perhaps that would be another resource for the search.

My usual advice for getting any work done by a smith is to give them a call and chat with them a bit to see if you're both on the same page and they like to do projects such as you've got in mind. One or two will no doubt rise to the top as ones best suited for your work.

Hopefully that made sense and was useful information to you or someone out there sir.

Good luck on your 95 rebarreling whomever you choose and again welcome here.

Well I Thank You Sir, I'm gonna make a poster of this and put it on the gun room wall. Well Done !
BD : Welcome to the Fire !

What chambering are you re-barrelling your 1895 From / To ??

I've often thought an 1895 in .303 Brit would be a lot of fun.

Cheers
On Dwayne's list, Chris Wilcox is the most likely to want to do a 95 and do it well. Chambering you want is relevant since tooling may be an issue. The winchester lever actions present some issues which turn off many modern day 'smiths. GD
