How much damage has young Trudeau done so far, and what will it take to send him to early retirement?
Posted By: BC30cal Re: Trudeau? - 02/20/16
wabigoon;
Good afternoon sir, I'm trusting this finds you and yours well on what's proving to be a nice sunny Saturday here.

While I'm all for letting someone new have a chance to prove themselves, I'm of the opinion that reality has already smacked him and the Liberal party pretty hard as they find out they can't accomplish what they'd promised to do.

How much damage? I'm not sure yet but hopefully not irreparable. Time as in all things - will tell won't it?

Whether or not the newly engaged members of our Canuck populace will see this or not is another topic for another afternoon.

I'm off to try to establish some value on a firearm collection and then if time allows some Ponderosa pines need their lower limbs trimmed up before fire season returns here to our semi-desert home.

Have a good remainder of the weekend sir.

Not sure of the real number..but,how many Billions sent to other countries, and damn near zero for Canada..

We need a real leader right now, not a selfy queen..

Okay I need to walk away from the computer for awhile..

I am still convinced that an unemployed substitute art teacher born with a silver spoon in his mouth and an unrealistic sense of entitlement is NOT the best person to lead our country.

The scary thought is that he, and his equally naive wife, seem to believe the drivel that is coming out of their mouths.

BTW his forecasted 4 year deficit is now sitting at a projected 90 billion dollars. 90 billion may also prove to be much lower than what the actual cost will be.

He is going to sell portraits of himself to pay off the deficit he is building. whistle

If that doesn't bring in enough he is setting up to sell his watercolours on the streets of Quebec city. sick

I thought I would give Trudeau and the liberals a chance, I never voted for him, he had his chance.

He has already put us into spiraling debt and when he said "lets spend some money" he scarred the shyte outa me,,, I have to manage my household debt, why cant they?

He has managed to embarrass me as a Canadian by turning our mission in the middle east into a joke, and no further help for the homeless and living on the street veterans, shameful.

He could be trying to outwit the gun owners of Canada by....
handing over gun control/gun registration/ to the RCMP, which would be in line with his statement "we will not revisit a gun registry" I guess if its the RCMP doing it, its not really the liberals is it...

The really scary thing is....he/they will pander to the minority, now the majority of new immigrants over the last 20-30 years who like all the "we love you guys" and your cultural contribution to our society and country as a whole.
While at the same time taking away average Canadians rights and privilages, ie: gun control, gay marriage, prayer times for muslims in school, work, etc. Same shyte in the USA.

I get really pissed off when I phone or go to a bank and am spoken to in mandarin, or a street sign in punjabi, or people born here that cant speak english or french. It wouldn't be fair to blame Trudeau and the liberals for it all but they will make it easier for them to "adjust" to our society, and they are the ones that got the ball rolling in the first place, they wont be proven wrong.

It will be interesting to see how they will respond to the next terrorist attack on our soil, my guess is they will go after gun owning Canadians, you guess at how this will go.

I would like to say to Trudeau "GFY" as you dont represent me.

Trudeau and his lefty Easterners, continue buying oil from Opec, Saudi Arabia and others with the worse human rights records and Western oil producers are left without a way to move their over abundance of oil to the east. Hard for Trudeau to understand that, since tankers of cheap Saudi oil is arriving daily at Irving oil refineries in New Brunswick.
Posted By: gerry35 Re: Trudeau? - 02/21/16
Makes me sick to my stomach the thought that some actually believe he would make a good leader. His ideas are unrealistic and stupid. I never agreed with Chretien's policies and have never voted Liberal but at least I respected the man. All Trudeau seems to be good at is partying and taking selfies since he was elected. I hope he keeps it up for 4 years and the Conservatives get a good leader again to take his place.
Posted By: the_shootist Re: Trudeau? - 02/21/16
Amen to that, but with the latest infusion of Syrians, and our over liberal immigration policies, a fresh supply of liberal voters is ensured. Sad, really.

Feel sorry for your country. He has managed to really put our country back the past 7 years.

I was in Salmon Arm, BC back in the 1980's when Pierre Elliot Trudeau came through town on the train and saluted us with one finger. Did not care for him... and now it's his son. Don't care for him either. He needs to take a walk in the snow.

A chip off of the ol' block... just my humble opinion.

Actually his father was a well known homosexual in Montreal. His wife Margaret had many flinges including a very publicized one in 1977 with the Rolling Stones where she had really run amuck. I would actually be very surprised if Justin was a son of of Pierre Trudeau.

Geez Louise...a bunch of CPC supporters all bum hurt or what? I haven't read as much whining in a long time. ;-) The fact is Mr. Harper and his crew couldn't maintain the support of a majority of voting Canadians due to their high handed policies, so it's their own fault.

Dumb heads changed the pension rules, so younger Canadians have to work an extra 2 years in order to collect, strike one. They close coast guard stations on the west coast, strike 2. They have no moral obligation to our vets, strike 3.....no need to go on is there, or maybe we should mention year after year after year of budget deficits. strike 4 your out.

Overall I think Harper did a good job, but in the end he got voted out because of the way he interacted with the voters. People didn't like him and it got him fired.

CanuckShooter;
Top of the morning to you sir, I hope the morning up north is as nice for you folks as this one is shaping up to be.

Since we know each other a wee bit now from a few forums and over a span of years, I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that you're stirring the pot a bit to see if it'll garner a response?

So then since it's a might early for me to start my outside chores today - too dark still - I'll throw out a couple thoughts that spring to my mind.

The Conservatives went into this election facing almost insurmountable odds as far as retaining power - historically it just doesn't happen.

While it's somewhat in fashion to bash their accomplishments - I'd make a case that the policies of the Harper years allowed both you and I to continue working here in BC - where as we well know jobs and steady work can be variable to say the least.

No, they did not do all things the way I'd like to see them, but as a broad statement and yes sir I am cognizant how slippery they can be - they were trying to balance the budget and not dump us into debt.

Unless I misread your posts sir, you are similar to me and are closer to retirement than the other way around. We've had a decent go of life and have been able to see and do a few things - such as your annual hunting trips.

Speaking personally I'm really and truly concerned that spiraling national debt will be a yoke that our children and grandchildren - I don't have any yet, but I recall you do - will have to deal with.

We've been an incredibly selfish and short sighted generation in my view - history won't be kind to us I don't believe. We should be responsible for our own debt and deal with our own mess in the present - but we don't.....

Trudeau's government spending cannot be maintained, anybody who has balanced their own bank account can see that.

It doesn't cause me personal posterior pain as much as heart ache for my offspring. That's the point of view I'm coming from personally.

Anyway sir, you and your fine family have a good weekend.

She was the sacrificial lamb when Mulroney bailed during a time when the Conservatives popularity was tanking. She was never going to go anywhere politically anyway, and it gave the party time to reform while Chretien brauled his way through us.

Whoever took the party at that time was going down big time. Kim took it on the chin. I was never convinced she had anything on the go regardless. IMHO.

Also correct me if I am wrong, There might be a non confidence vote ?

I never used to pay to much attention to politics, untill now.

A non confidence vote needs a majority of the government to vote against a proposed law. Unless a bunch of Libertards decide to go against their own party on some major policy or legislation, it won't work.

And most of them will be so busy bellying up to the trough they will never rock the boat. It would have to be something really bad for them to even consider it.
Posted By: 673 Re: Trudeau? - 03/01/16
The Liberals are going to tax us Canadians with new taxes that only a room full of morons could dream up ie:
I just saw on the news that were in for a new, or series of new FEDERAL enviromental taxes on fuel etc, anything to do with polluting the earth is going to be taxed, or new taxes invented.

Trudeau was in power 10 minutes and he said..."lets spend some money" someones gonna pay for it.
Posted By: wabigoon Re: Trudeau? - 03/01/16
I'll ask this then, how do you rate your PM, Member of Parliament, for non Canadians?

Does the MP have the head on straight?
Posted By: 673 Re: Trudeau? - 03/01/16
I'm trying to give him a chance, hes only been in power a few months, yet he has already repealed 2 laws I'm aware of, but I am sure theres more.

For example...he has repealed the law, stripping anyone of their Canadian citizenship who has been convicted of terrorism. I would like someone convicted of terrorism turfed out of my country... please.

I will also predict a "gun registry" under the guise of making our country safer, it will probably be run by the RCMP. Thats just a guess, time will tell.

He's not stupid either, he just got 25,000 new Liberals into the country, so he is also cunning and full of guile.
I was wondering which country he would be good at running? you want him?

My member of parliment isn't a Liberal so cant answer that one...
Posted By: wabigoon Re: Trudeau? - 03/02/16
673, do I want him?
No, of course not.

The real problem on both sides of the 49th is the misguided people that support the liberals.

The old, "Something for Nothing".
When will voters wake up, and realize nothing comes free.

Ontario residents will have the luxury of paying several new taxes starting in 2017 including a new 4.3 cents per litre "cap and trade" tax on gasoline (4.7 cents per litre on diesel}. Of course, it all goes into the general fund for important government work, like helping Mideast refugees resettle in the province.

But wait, there's more! Justin the "boy wonder" Trudeau is actually meeting with premiers of all the provinces today to discuss a nationwide carbon tax, which will raise the price of gasoline even more!

Trudeau is hoping to reach agreement with his provincial and territorial counterparts on a national plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions before he heads to a major international climate change summit in Paris.

The United Nations climate conference, known as COP21, begins Nov. 30 and the goal is to achieve a framework agreement on reducing emissions among all countries in the world.

B.C. Premier Christy Clark has said she expects the leaders will work on a national climate strategy in advance of the talks in Paris. Clark said she will be touting B.C.'s carbon tax, which she calls a world-leading weapon against global warming.

The premiers will also discuss how both levels of government can work in concert with municipalities to bring in refugees from the crisis engulfing Syria and northern Iraq.

Now I know the reason I've purchased several old Eagle metal gas cans over the last 3 years. They don't wear out and replacement parts are readily available on Ebay. I hate hauling gasoline in my truck, but that's what's going to happen. I'm also happy my truck has a 47 gallon fuel tank, I haven't filled it up in Canada in years.

I say, when China and some of the other Asian countries start to pay need to carbon footprints, then MAYBE we should look at it. Otherwise drop the whole nonsense.

^^^^^^^ grin

i hear ya Shooter. Untill the biggest polluters out there start to curtail their emissions, nothing we do will make a difference.
Well, except line the pockets of certain people...

I am not convinced us driving smaller cars and making our cattle fart in gas collectors will do ANYTHING regarding "climate change." I live in northern Ontario. Sometimes we have cold winters like last year, and sometimes milder like this year. Sometimes we get huge snowfall, and sometimes like this year, a smaller amount of snow, and I refuse to be bullied into believing my SUV has had any impact on it.

I would sooner trust something more scientific like a stupid groundhog. Up here, whether the rodent sees his shadow or not, we WILL HAVE six more weeks of winter. Take that to the bank. grin
Posted By: wabigoon Re: Trudeau? - 03/02/16

Justin crawled out from her burrow, saw the shadow of your SUV, and took a bag of methane gas to the bank in six weeks??

Trudeau, is opening the CCG-Kits. station, for POLITICAL reasons, BUT, as usual with slimy Liberals, he is CLOSING another VITAL CCG station further up the coast......

I actually served a term in the CCG and base my comments on experience, not merely on leftist bias. He will continue to decimate our military and resource agencies, as his vile "papa" did and other Lieberals who followed that poncy poofter also did.

But, be happy, he is giving LOTS more to Injuns, halfbreeds and Muslim "refugees" while increasing immigration by the elderly and infirm from Asia, etc. He is also largely eliminating the requirement for immigrants to speak one of our "Official" languages and security checks on them.

Why? I think that much the same has been posted there for months and far more invidious comments are posted about, well, you know......

I think that after "Selfie Boy" has been in office 2-3 years, the comments on HBC (and elsewhere) will be FAR, FAR more harsh and realistic than is now the case.

The job losses, unaffordable housing, healthcare issues and perhaps "terrorism" will be much worse than we have yet seen and the outrage and outcry will become extreme.
