I guess Curs qualify as "Gun Dogs" so I thought I'd post this here since the "Hunters" Campfire seems to be reserved for arguments about politics and religion these days....
Anyway..as some of you know I have a little Cur dog that I'm pretty proud of so I thought I'd share this...
I've had a cyber friend for about seven years now that has younger sister to my Sally dog that I finally got to meet recently....
He retired a couple of years ago and is doing the RV thing for awhile and since he's an avid predator hunter hunter he decided to spend Sept. in Idaho trying to harvest a Wolf....
Well he showed up a couple of weeks ago and we've been able to get together a few times for some Wolf hunting and introduce our dogs to each other....they took to each other like long lost friends.....it's pretty cool to see the bond they seem to have and meeting Craig and his lovely wife is icing on the cake....

I haven't been able to get on photobucket for a month or more but here's a link to a post Craig made over on PM with a pic of the girls...

I know bupkiss about hunting Wolves but I know the country and he's a top shelf predator hunter so we're having a heck of a time getting to know each other and spending time in some wild country....

I'm thinking going out and trying for a Wolf has got to be one of the most challenging hunts. Good luck, have fun and would be nice to know how and what you are doing to bring one in.

He's using a combination of Elk Calf distress and an Alpha Male Coyote howl knowing Wolves won't tolerate another K-9 in their territory.....
No luck with either one so far but like you said.....it's right up there with calling in a Mountain Lion as far as degree of difficulty goes....
We're having fun swapping lies though and who knows...maybe he'll get lucky...I hope so...

Oh...BTW...he did kill his first Ruff Grouse with his grand dad's old 16ga M37 the other day...that was pretty cool....
