Just wondering how many of you guys get this for your dog.

Internet wise (the source of teenage wisdom, and a few old guys) has mixed reviews on the effectiveness.

Heck I didn't even know they existed up to last year
I have done this for many years. All my GWPs got the rattlesnake vaccine. While some say after the initial series of shots, the dog only need one shot a year. I opt to do two a year. I also have put them through snake avoidance training. My neighbor has done the same with his two GSPs.

My vet Dr. Michael Robinson, Tucson Az, has treated in the neighborhood of 100 dogs that had the vaccine and had been bitten. None required antivenom. He is very outspoken as to the benefits of the vaccine.

Point of information: it doesn't work on mohave rattlers which have both neuro and hemo toxins.
Been doing my dog for Five years, will keep doing it.
Does the vaccine provide protection against the Mojave Rattlesnake?

I'll be using it for my dog starting next year. Killed 7 copperheads in the front yard this year so far and my dog had close encounters but has been lucky so far.
SU35,

Just saw you asked this sorry for the long delay. No it won't work on mohaves.

My dog warned me of another rattler on the property! The snake avoidance training sure works.

Glad to add this post to the top, tired of seeing Rash and Pustules...sorry Abbeydog, hope your Abbey is better now.

I have a rescue GWP whose name is also Abbey. She is almost 14, a retired hunter.....
