The new to me pre64 model featherweight in 270 I just bought looks like it needs a shim in order to make the floorplate work. Well not exactly true it will work if I loosen the front screw a little but thinking for accuracy II need it tightened all the way down which would require a shim.

Do you guys buy them or make them and what have you had success using??
Would the shim go between the stock and floor plate mount? If so, I would use a thin washer and you should be able to tighten down.....I go 40# on my pre 64 Model 70's.

I’ve seen enough shims on pre-64 plates that are identical and I feel are factory parts. I’ll post pics in the Image Gallery in a bit.
As previously stated they are just thin washers.

I have seen them also but have no idea where to find one. I didn’t see them at pre64win.com. They look almost identical to the front tab on the floorplate.

They’re the ones, just washers that one never sees until the gun is taken apart.
