I’ve got classic stainless I’m setting up for black bears to leave at my place in Ak. It’s a featherweight ‘06 mounted in an McM Edge compact hunter or whatever they call them. Thinking about mounting my VXR 2x7 on it and need to order Talley 30mm lightweights.

Any suggestions to get it as low as possible giving good cheek weld and clearance? Low or medium, or will it be trial and error? Hoping someone else has been down this road. Would appreciate some advice if so.

Thx fellas!
Extra low.
Remember that your bolt handle gets the final vote; keep in mind how close the bolt handle comes to your scope's eye piece its upward position and its travel rearward during a fire and feed cycle.
I called Talley and have some Lows on the way. They don’t think the bolt will clear the ocular of the VXR with extra lows
The lows should work just fine. Post a pic after you get it all set up and show us the clearance. Both at the bolt handle to ocular and objective to the barrel. If it were me, I probably would have went with the lows as well.
