Is $1,800 out of the ballpark asking price for this?? Bore is excellent. Has Williams peep sight and I see no extraneous extra holes drilled anywhere in receiver. I would rate rifle at 98% .

Im thinking you can find a deluxe version for that.
To me it seems high for a 32. Goodman guns has a 30wcf deluxe for $1850.

Mr P above + 1. Rife "condition" in respect of "value curve" isn't linear. Rather those last few percentage points achieved by top condition going toward "as new in box"; such accounts for value 'spiking' potential! And the opposite, as the "too good to be true", nose dive as minor flaws down to restoration detected.
Of the subject rifle I'd want to know the SN principal digits to fix the era and then scrutinize for rea correct integral front sight ramp and metal butt plate, as applicable. I'd also probably want to have a look under the Williams sight for any possible residual receiver marks. That sight itself a bit incongruous inference of use, as appearance of a total safe queen.

I keep a pretty good eye on these as my Grandfather owned one at one time and I have considered buying one from time to time, but it hasn't happened yet. He had a 32 and I would only consider buying a 32.

Hood for front sight is still there. A Lyman receiver sight would make it a little more interesting, but that being said,

The Williams peep is an aftermarket. It’s easy enough to find a period correct replacement but they’re usually $150-$250. There is almost certainly going to be marks on the receiver when the Williams is removed.

It looks to be a very clean and high condition example but there are some handling marks in the metal and a good bit of “belly wear” on the bottom of the receiver.

This rifle was apparently carried a lot but very well protected and cared for.

I’d be happy to own it, but would spend over $1200 for it. I’m certain I could find one that’s as good for $1000. I also know I could sell this one for $1500… so I suppose it’s how “bad” you want it.

I have always wanted one of these rifles in 30 wcf. Really wouldn’t mind finding one in poor enough condition I could get it refinished with a case hardening or one as an honest wear shooter.

After seeing the rest of the rifle ....I say have to look pretty hard. I could not spend $ 1800.00 for it.

That being said good deals do come around . I bought one the Campfire couple years ago. A pretty nice 64 in 30-30. Nicer than this one . It was misrepresented ....I paid $900.00. IF I had seen it in person ....I could have pointed out a few things about it.

The very nicest 64 I have is one in 30-30 I bought last August with a collection for about $ 500.00.
I bought about 30 items ....so hard to figure individual prices.

Speaking for myself honestly, regardless of market value? If I didn't already have one in 30-30, Lord Yes, I would buy it! I have some dandy deer rifles, hunting quality, bolt actions, levers. Auto, and my Mod 64 30-30 is by far my favorite hunting rifle, here in big mountains, no agriculture, it's to me the ultimate deer rifle. Have a Williams on it. I would prefer it in 30-30, but if I was buying it, I'd gladly take the 32Spl! Killed my deer in Nov with it, 50yds bang flop neck shot!

For me, picking up a 90% or so Winchester 70 as mainstream interest, is "Joy"! Yet including such as 64 or 94 Models as "targets of opportunity", not to be ignored. Such... "In The Days!" When gun shows still ruled and 'hands on' bargaining still fueled. Then as nowadays, quality "high nineties plus"; such-guns accounted for the price tsunami-peaks!

That as quite decent guns of my interests, in honest high eighties-low nineties clicks, fueled my purchases and no regrets. "Honest wear" reflecting 'out the door acquisitions' perhaps half such lofty peak values of the same guns perhaps some single digit clicks greater. Shakespeare's "Gilding the Lily." For those desiring the true beauties, respecting your interests! Just "different strokes"!

Beautiful rifle, I want one!!

I have purchase two 64s in the past month.

One a 30-30 and one a 32 Special. Both very high condition...the 32 still in the grease, with hang tag (I am sure some here saw it on GI).

I have over a hundred rounds through the 30-30 already...it is so sweet. The 32 just shipped today.

Why did I wait so long to get a 64? Awesome little rifles.
