I picked up a 94 trapper in 357 the other day and when I got it home it felt like the length of pull was shorter. I looked in the gun value book and it said they made them for one year. Anybody ever seen one or have any idea how many were made like this?
I have the Trapper in 30-30 and 9422. Never had any use for one in 357 mag. They where made for the Cowboy shooting game in 357
Dont see many trappers for sale, but when I do they are usually
priced high. Nice little rifles, I believe they made them in
44 magnum also. They recently made a run of single shot trappers in 30-40 Krag, plus a couple of other calibers.
I would love to have a trapper in 22. I have been watching for one for a while now, but no luck. I have seen other trappers before, but this one seems to have a shorter stock
Just did some research and Winchester made M1885 trappers in
.30-40 Krag, .38-55, and .45-70. Thats a lot of gun in a 16"
barrel.
That would be a handful
The Mod 94 Trapper was made in 357, 44 Mag, 45 Colt, and 30-30.

The 1885 is the Winchester Hi-Wall.

I had a Trapper in 44 Mag for a while. Nice rifle. It held 10 rounds total and was pretty good out to 100 yards. I sold it because I wanted something else not because the gun had any flaws. It always functioned properly. I can't remember if it had a shorter butt-stock than a carbine length M94.
I've owned two M94 trappers, a .30-30 and a .44 magnum. Both seemed more accurate than the run of the mill M94 carbine.
The Model 94 Trapper Compact was made for only one year(2006) in .357 w/ 12.5" LOP. One sold recently on GB for $1116.
