whats a 264 win mag in 96-98% condition worth. I believe its a standard ie 24" barrel. Its being offerd as a trade. Gentlemen also has 308 3006 and 270 FW P64s that are up for trade, i figured a 264 was the rarest, and coolest outta the 3. please inform me if im off base.
What does the fellow want in trade value wise? Has a cash price been put on each gun? If the .264 is standard it has a 26" SS barrel, very few were CM. I like the 59' models best, no real big reason, some ole timers say equipment was really worn out in the 60's , shims on top of shims.. very best
He;s talking about trading it for my model 700 sendero setup, i have it priced from 1150-1550 depending on how buyer wants it.

"Shims on top of shims", and they still knew how to put a rifle together. Of the post 1960 rifles's I've had and seen, they were built pretty good. Machine work on them was great as a matter of fact. The 1963 I recently sold to raybass, here, was a prime example of their manufacturing process and that one was built 7 months before the last "pre 64" model 70 went out the door. As far as price, it sounds like the 264 win mag in question should be worth from $1,500.00 to $1,900.00 (realistically) if it is as nice as the OP says it is (which is generally never the case). A "95%" gun usually turns into an 80% gun after pics are shown and fine tooth comb is ran over it...With that said, a "96-98%" gun is a rare bird and I'd trade 3 or 4 rem 700's for one like that. Just sayin...
FWIW , I just paid 1550. for a mod 70 std in 264 that had not been shot since it had proof marks stamped, it had a couple stock dings,( I call safe rash) and a small chunk of plastic out of the buttplate. I am very happy as it shoots the 140 gr Super X very well, I have a coyote and whitetail out of my first box of bullets. I mounted a Leupold 10X thick to thin X hair scope on her. It did take me 4 bases and 5 scopes to get it 'right' .
That ole 'dog knot' kept getting in the way... I will take ANY pre 64 over any other gun made since. Nothing else comes close for me! I guess I am partial to 50's guns since all mine were made in the 50's . I did have a 61' Target and it shot lights out, I had two of them so I let it go to bankroll anothe 70 in a different cal. very best
here is the rifle in question, i think its a 62 or 63 does this look like a non bubbad rifled, or does it look to good to be true (metal looks quite nice to me but im no expert)
My current, last of four in this round alone, .300H&H is in this condition +/- a bit. This, is a NICE piece and I would trade your Sendaro for it in a HEARTBEAT!
Value, at least $1750.00 average, IMHO and mine has equal metal to this, but, someone had broken the orginal stock.....but, then, it cost me $600.00 CDN and is now in a fine Micky G&H stock, wearing a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14 in DDs....and, these WILL SHOOT!
Grab it and the Fwt. 270, among the best .270s ever made, period.
Thanks kutenay sounds like a deal I should pursue

+1, Kutenay is correct. Adam, I'd be on that one quicker than a fly on Jwall, especially if it only meant I had to give up a rem 700 to get it. That part is the "NO Brainer"!!
I gotta kick him a hundo but he's getting my who setbuo brass dies scope etc

I was going to say, I would have probably slipped him a few hundo's (if I were you) so I didn't feel so guilty
...I'm looking forward to hearing a range report. That's a nice rifle..
Not sure there will be one. I might go on the block. Have to wait until I get it
Ding ding ding. A cooper you have a 'KEEPER' . great trade, very best
