Hard to say without pictures. I guess anything is worth looking at.

SRC's are bringing some pretty good $$ these days, especially the 38-40 and 44-40. Small bores not so much. "Well worn" can mean darn near anything from completely used up to just being an old gun, depending on who is describing. It's certainly worth taking a look at. I sure would.

I find it hard to assess condition with these antiques. This 1910 vintage .38-40 '92 is super slick. The bore is fairly bright with some pitting, but it out shot my Marlin Cowboy .45 Colt.

It shows patina but is tight and fully functional. Not sure what I'd call the condition.

Win 92s in 38-40 have have the best bores for the money, compared to the 25-20, 32-20, and 44-40 rifles I have bought.

You can see I got them down a little on the sticker price, but I still had to pay state sales tax.

I has a really good bore, and with jacketed 40 cal bullets and H110 powder, it kicks like a 30-30.

Condition leaves a lot to be desired. If that's a saddle scabbard that comes with the gun it's a plus. My obo would be around $700.00....

A lot would depend on the bore. On the plus side: '92 SRC's are a SUPER NEAT little gun, it's complete w/ring, wood is not sanded, screw heads look VG, scabbard. On the negative side: basically zero finish, wrong rear sight (fixable). I would love to have it for a shooter if the bore was at all decent, and Poconojack is about right with his $$ estimate. $1500 is a no-way, no-how.

If you put that rifle and scabbard on Gunsamerica for $1500 and waited a year, you would likely get it.

But in the smaller and supply driven market between relatives, the price should be half that.

Carry that gun and scabbard into a big gun show and go for best offer, and the price would be in between. Maybe $900.

I have bought 6 model 92s in the last 3 years and looked at a lot more.
