I finally found a load for my new Mod. 70 sporter. One thing I noticed is that the fore end is touching the barrel back to the forward sling swivel.
I haven't pulled the action from the stock yet and was wondering 2 things:

1) do the Mod. 70 sporters (wood stock) have a fore end pressure point? If so, how far back from the tip of the fore end should it be?

2) what is the torque setting for the action screws?

I'm thinking of bedding it to free float the barrel and before I start messing with things I figured I'd ask.

Thanks in advance!
Answered your PM.. I'd glass bed and freefloat it and be done. Should make it a much more consistent shooter that way.. Good luck..
