Looking at a pre 64 Win M70, but buyer says it has a plastic buttplate. Weren't all pre 64's equipped with aluminum ones? Thanks

Quick answer no. Later models had plastic butt plates, I am to lazy to look at Rules book right now but one of the experts will give you the year. I believe late 50's to the end.

After 58 or 59 I think is plastic

After '59, they were plastic...

I'm nowhere near the expert some of the guys here are, but what I can tell you is my '61 is plastic.

I believe a '59 could be either, depending on how early in the year production occured. After'59, definitely plastic.

It's a 1960 Fwt on Gun Broker, so it having a plastic buttplate makes sense. Thanks guys!
