Guys I have a 270wsm model 70 that I am rebarreling. I am going to replace the stock as well. Is my wsm action the same as other short actions. I was thinking it was but hogue shows a different stock for just the wsm actions.

If anyone could help I would appreciate it. I found a bell and carlson carbelite stock and bottom metal I was going to switch it to but wanted to make sure it would work first.
Yes, WSM chambered 70s are built on the short action with WSM specific magazine boxes and followers. Will the feed rails work with the cartridge that you are going to?
I dunno, 260. I have a 270 WSM in a CRPF, and a Classic that was originally a 7-08 (now has a 257Bob bbl).

And the opening (ejection port)in the WSM action is over 1/4" longer than the 7-08 action. The overall action seems to be about the same length.

I did not take them out of their stocks, but it looks like there may be more differences than just the magazine boxes and the follower.
I swapped stocks between a 70 Fwt in 308 and a 70 Fwt in 270 WSM.
Ok. can't argue with that!
