Looks like the fella striped a .220 Swift. He's got bids of about $900 on all the bits and pieces so far not including the receiver, which is on Gunbroker (currently at $130). I know it's been discussed before, but parting out Winchesters still bothers me.

I usually post on the Savage forum but this thread reminded me of a guy on the CMP forum who is trying to sell a Winchester M1 Garand for 3K and is threatening to part it out if it doesn't sell. I asked him why it was worth so much more than any other M1 in decent shape and why he felt it necessary to break it down. He basically said it was because all the parts were worth that much if sold individually so he felt that made his logic sound. I just didn't have the heart to pursue the situation any further after that.
