Your rifle was made after 1992.. The following years upto 2005 you had to call Winchester to get the date of manufacture. But once the new haven plant shut down you could no longer do this. Their are several stories/rumors to what Winchester did with the sn from 93 to 05 some say Winchester gave them to the ATF others say they were destroyed and some say they are in South Carolina who knows...

I could use some help. new to the forum, first post. I have a Model 70 Classic Sporter .300 Weatherby mag with BOSS. Built in New Haven, CT Serial #G120XXX (a G with 6 numbers after)

Can anyone tell me the year it was manufactured? I can't find bases in the local stores and need to try to order some. It would help to know what year it was made

Your rifle is a 6 digit and was made after 94 what year is anyone's guess..

Unfortunately anything made after 92 is hard to tell.. I just read your post again and you have the boss equipped model 70 They made them with boss for 3 yrs 95-98. The 300 weatherby were only made 1 yr with the boss 1997.
