I am looking for a source for the G series XTR. Something that encompass the entire New Haven era thru USRAC. For future reference and specifically for the G1,867,000.

Chapter 10 in Roger Rule's book is the most comprehensive on dates/production changes,variations, etc. After that it is pretty much a piecemeal pursuit of tidbits here and there over the years (American Rifleman had a number of articles as did Gun Digest, Shooters Bible, Shooting Times, etc.) I also have a "special edition" put out by Emap-Petersen Publications in 2000. Titled "The Complete Book of Winchester's Model 70" - it is a compilation of articles published in Guns & Ammo magazine over the years - also pick up the old catalogs off of ebay. Your serial number indicates a post-1981, post-WRA rifle (USRA), made in 1988 in New Haven CT.

After 1981, the serial number look - ups get fragmented.

You are welcome Bigwhoop. The Winchester serial numbers section in the back of the Blue Book of Gun Values will take you through 1991 on the Model 70 - then it gets real sketchy.
