Just purchased a 1950 vintage barreled action in .270WCF anybody have a steel butt low comb stock for sale?

No, but I have a McWoody for a pre-64 H&H I might sell, just not a fan of the stock.

Good luck with your search.

GREAT!.................now you have plenty of time to work a load up and get that rifle ready for hunting.

I'd have to look it up but Jack O'Connors load and a 130gr bullet works well in all my 270's.

Yeah, so does 57 grs RL-22 under a 150 NPT. cool

Years ago I happened to be in Thermopolis,WY and had the good fortune to meet Bob Milek. We visited for about an hour, and spoke of different calibers/loads, etc. I have enjoyed shooting the .270 for years, and asked him if he had any favorite .270 loads. He suggested for the 130gr (bullet manufacturer was not mentioned) His favorites: 54.5grs IMR 4350 and 59.9grs H 4831. In my old pre '64 SG, those loads work well with Nosler bullets. I 'spect I'll give those two loads a go in my "new" M-70.

If memory serves me correctly the 4831 load is very close to O'Connors load.

Definetly a little stout when compared to published maximum loads in today's reloading manuals, but Jack O'Connor's pet load was 62 gr. of H4831 under a 130 gr. Nosler Partition. Personally, I'm much more comfortable using 58.5 gr. of H4831....
