Hi guys I just got a 1972 super grade in 270 win... who makes the best pre fit recoil pad

I assume you are looking for a pad that you screw on as opposed to a slip-on?

My guess is you will find enough variation in stock dimensions that getting a good fit, despite what is promised, would be a piece of good luck. I have always assumed that to get a good fit, you had to grind to fit. I often fit the pad myself, then take it to someone who does it enough to be good at it to do the grinding.

Either way, screw-on or slip-on, you are going to increase the length of pull, which you may or may not want to do.

IMO, a Super Grade especially deserves to have it done as well as possible.

Sorry not to be able to give you an easy "buy this one" answer, but the above has been my experience.

Do yourself a favor and take it to a smith. You aren't going to find one pre fit for that rifle...
