Put one together... - 10/19/14
Just finished an all stainless LH 700 ultralight build in .280 Remington.
Barrel is a factory pencil mountain contour-22", added a PTG shroud and guard, Timney, stock is a Micky kevlar which I inletted for the mountain tube. I added some micky stainless studs as well.
Local Smith Mel Doyle spun and spaced the tube, nicely indexed.
Gun weighs in at 5lbs 15 ounces bare, 6lbs 11 ounces with a new Leupy FX-II 6x36mm in Talley x-tra lows.
Moment of truth...
Jumped on the wheeler and rode to our back forty 100 yard range and shot it for the
first time today.
Out of moa targets, paper plate and sharpie had to do...
First shot was on the paper, to the right. I tweaked the 6x36 and the next three shots
were 1/2 moa with $20 a box Federal Fusion 140 grain. No adjustments at all after the
initial shot dial-in. Barrel was warm/hot after the first two shots but had no affect at all on the second two. I didn't space the shots.
Couldn't be happier!
