This lefty got it done - 06/17/16
Axis deer hunt last week on 20,000 low fenced acres. while it may have been a free range ranch, the population density was significant and the couple of wet years in TX probably helped support some real studs... I am very happy with this guy. The rifle started as a Rem 700- douglas air gauge barrel in 25-06, gentry safety, english walnut stock, Biesen metal, conetrol rings, VX-II, trigger tuned to ~3lbs, dakota studs on raised beds, ebony tip with widow's peak, etc all put together by some smith that I liked... Axis buck measures something like 35.5" by 33.5" and about 27" inside width as shot. I totally wanted to find one in full velvet and am beyond ecstatic to find one in full velvet this size.
