I always owned a RH or lever because my son is RH and he is the recipient of whatever I was accumulating and selling.

I'm selling the last two or three guns in various actions and settling on one rifle.

I'm starting to look for a LH rifle for a moose hunt and prefer Browning, Sako or Merkel.
I like the the carbon fiber stocks in the Browning.

I'm in no rush.
To bad you don't want a American rifle.....Ruger 375 would make a great moose or just about everything rifle.....$599.99

Sako make a left hand version of their fiberclass rifle. I see them come up for sale every so often. Myself, I have a LH Sako AV in 338WM that wears a McMillan classic and is topped with a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8. It's my go to rifle for elk so would imagine something similar would work for moose
No need for a large rifle to kill a moose something in the 7mm Rem Mag, 30-06, 300 WSM/Win Mag range will be plenty. You can of course use something big but it really doesn't gain you any killing power. If you want something a bit different the 7X64, 8x57 or 9.3x62 would work great too.

I have used the 30-06, 308 Norma and 35 Whelen over the years on moose with no complaints at all.
I got a nice Sako AV lefty in 7 REM Mag that i dont really use a ton. Was thinking about selling if interested, PM me. Thing is sighted in and with 150 grain factory Winchesters, it shoots bug holes. I used it on a whitetail hunt and realized u don't need any Magnum for deer. Gonna stick with my 308 for whitetails.

I have a LH 375 Ruger M77 in a Mcmillan fiberglass stock that I no longer need. Send me a pm if interested.
I'm not sure if I'll go the magnum route but I think I would consider a 7mm magnum.

I sold a RH 7 mm that I bought 4 years ago for an intended Moose hunt.
CDNN has those Ruger 338 RCM for $519 shipped.
Well, just let me know. It's a great rifle and shoots wonderfully!

For moose, stainless/synthetic seems like the best bet. Or at least stainless/laminate.

For Sako accuracy at a lower price, nothing would be wrong with a Tikka T3 or T3X in 300 Win. or 300 WSM. Then there would be plenty of funds to do a McMillan stock.
I think I'd stay with the 9,3x62. Lots of options there.
Moose are interesting to "kill" Most will not exhibit any sign of shock They rarely go DRT unless hit in the spine or CNS. I killed dozens with a 375 H&H and two with a 9,3x74R but never felt the power was needed. The power was for when a grizzly decided he wanted the meat more than I did, and thank god that never happened.
Any good .30 caliber with a decent bullet in the right area will get the actual killing done.
I have LH Winchester 70 in 300WM, $1550 PM

Yep...I have a beautiful LH LSS in .30-06 ready to go.

Drop me a PM, this is a nice one.
The 35 Whelen sounds like...... Just the thing you are looking for.
Have a LH Browning A bolt Medallion in 338 WM that has seen little use. I had the barrel shortened to 22 or 23 inches as I did not care for the 26 inch factory barrel on that gun. Would make a dandy moose thumper!

Shoot me a PM if you have interest.
I have LH, 9.3 X 62, 35 Whelen, 338 RCM several 06,s
My go to Moose and bear rifle is my LH Ruger 35 Whelen.
How about a SS model 70 in 358 Norma? McMillan Supergrade stock.
I know for a fact that it's big medicine for moose, caribou and bears.
I'm now between a SKo and Browning.

WOW ..... That's a great deal on a perfect LH moose rifle! Ruger should have put those laminates on all the 375 Alaskans both LH and right.

I have that exact rifle. Taken a caribou and a moose so far with it. I have to say the best attribute it has, is it's 40" overall length for getting through the alders. The cartridge can fail just like any other if shot placement or bullet isn't right. Just a tad heavy for backpack hunting.

I was slightly enamored with finding a powerful medium bore and stainless in left hand when I bought it. If I did things over, I'd probably get a stainless tikka t3 in 30-06 and rebore to 338-06 by JES.
I'm going to buy a Sako Finnlight, probably in .30-06.
The only LH Sako 85's I'm aware of are wood stocks, the Bavarian and the Hunter. I have a Hunter 270 Win and it is a nice gun, the 30-06 will work very nicely on moose so you are good to go there.
After much thought and talking with a professional competition shooter, his recommendation was to switch to right handed because I'm right eye dominant and shoot a handgun RH.

So I'll go that route for a rifle.
Using your dominant eye is always a good choice, that's why I shoot left handed. You certainly will have a lot more choice with RH guns.

I have an order now that may be an inspiration for you.

I know a left handed man in south Wyo who wants a powerful reliable rifle, good for moose, big bears and later on, Africa.

We got a Ruger M77 270 at a yard sale. Cost him $325
Then I got a 9.3Mm barrel blank.
I am turning the blank down to the same contour as the Ruger barrel. I chamber it to 9.3X62. The 06 action and mag work with the cartridge just fine. I then will blue it and put the rifle back together.

Instant moose-rifle.

Excellent reliability and accuracy with almost the same power as a 375, but costing a LOT less.
It also gives you a 4 shot mag (some guns will give you 5)
It doesn't need a magnum length action.
It can use a 20 inch barrel with little loss of velocity.
I weighs less then the 365s and yet doesn't kick very hard.
There is just no down side.

I agree, shoot with your dominant eye, my middle daughter shoots my left handed guns because she's left eye dominant.

If they offered that stainless Ruger in 416 Ruger at that price, I'd buy one tomorrow.
