Carried my CZ452 RH yesterday and there's just something about it that I don't like. (not just that it's a 17M2, RH and oddball safety)

What is out there in bolt action for a lefty, vintage or newer?

Savage makes some left hand bolt action 22's

Browning offers the T-Bolt in LH configs. 22LR, 22 Mag and 17 HMR.
Others include Cooper & Anschutz.

Find an old 581 remington lefty. Very nice shooting rigs.

Are the T Bolts decent?

This ^^^^ My LH 581 (with suppressor and Timney 788 trigger) is the only .22 rifle left in the gun case.

Did just pick up a TIkka T1x from Whittaker's. But, have a grand daughter who wants to start shooting. So, the Tikka will probably go her way in due time.

I have a LH Anschutz sporter. Really sweet. Very hard to find though.

Like the left-hand Kimber 22LR and 22 Hornet(from Clackamas days), and like the LH Anschutz in 22 LR

Yes, but IMO the CZ is a nicer, more accurate rifle. The T bolt is also not a true left handed rifle as it will eject brass out the right side.

Vudoo.

There is no better list that I am aware of than over at Rimfirecentral a sticky under the "lefty's choice" title.

I think so. I enjoy shooting mine. I forgot about the Remington 581, which is like the T-Bolts in that it has a LH bolt with RH ejection. It has yet to bother me. The prince of all rimfires is the Vudoo but its pricey.

For all the folks recommending Vudoo... Y'all are evil... grin

That's what this site is all about. Enablers one and all.

T-Bolts are straight pull. The trigger needs a new spring. They are very lightweight. I wish I had got the heavy barrel version, because even it is light.

Savage is alright, but the mags are fiddly. This is the new B-series. The old Mark II is a stamped metal piece of blank.

You can't fault a Cooper. I own 5, 4 are rimfires. Buy once cry once. Take a look at Coopers web site and build up something you like and shop it around to a couple of dealers for the best price.

Can't argue that. Cooper rifles are very nice and if a guy wants to own 1 nice rimfire, that's not a bad way to go.
Posted By: Orion2000 Re: Lefty .22 RF - 12/30/18
Not to hijack the OP's thread... Last time I swapped emails with Stiller, there was zero probability of a LH Stiller 2500 (rimfire model?) anytime in the near future. A LH Vudoo in a McEdge Hunter would be PDC to a LH TAC30 in the same stock... gears turning...

Well if ruger builds a #1 that would be my choice.

Another vote for Anschutz.
Posted By: OSU_Sig Re: Lefty .22 RF - 01/03/19
That's a good choice.

I have aT Bolt I bought in the late 70s (I think) It has one of their mistakes stock (salt wood) it is well used very accurate and reliable seems more like a CF rifle in weight and balance. The only negative for me is the DBM which I have come to dislike on all rifles ,it holds 5 I think. I might buy a BL22 some day .I just gave my Grandson a Taurus 62 SS pump which I carried when trapping it was a sweet rifle .The tube mag rifles seem to feed better to me.Plus 13 shots when the gophers are thick.

I have a LH Belgian T-Bolt, grade II. The grade II came with a 24'' bbl compared to a 22'' barrel on the grade I.

Have two CZ 452's (Lux 22LR and American 17 HMR) and the newer Browning T-Bolt Match/Varmint 22LR. The Browning shoots lights out and is a very nice gun, but I seem to shoot my CZ's a lot more for some reason even though the T-Bolt shoots tiny little groups. Given the price difference the CZ is a much better bargain but they can be extremely hard to find.
