My Mefford Hubertus has Talley QD Rings, that work like a charm. They fit like Jane on Tarzan. The bases are original to the gun, but certainly were not made by Talley. I've seen other guns with this kind of bases and usually someone has fitted a set of Talleys to them or they are sitting there bare and lonely. Here is a picture of the bases on my gun.

Can someone tell me what the correct name for these and maybe post a picture of what the original rings look like?
Thanks

They look like the bases that Krieghoff, fitted to many of their superb drillings from way back in the days when the finest combo guns were made, the late '20s and the '30s. I have seen these on post-war models, as well.
These are the Kreighoff bases for their fine guns. Lee LeBas had a set or two of top sections when he closed down and went to work for Blaser to run Mauser and Sauer divisions. These are great mounts and are relatively light.
There were other German makers who didn't use claw mounts. My Thieme-Schlegelmilch side-by-side 9.3x74R has bases for clamp-on rings. I was able to modify Talley rings to fit, though it took considerable filing on the rings.
