Hi all,

Was hoping for a little help on use of an adapter to shoot 22lr ammunition in my 22wmr chambered Savage 24.
Items like this are pretty scarce here in Australia.
Has anyone here used one before, and if so, did it function well? Then the obvious question is, can anyone make a recommendation on one and where I might be able to order it?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Aussielad.
I have always been fascinated by adapters, so I have quite a few. I found that the hammer fall on 24's was a little light for a 22 WRM in a 222 and 223. These use an insert that has an off center firing pin that must be driven by the hammer fall. That should not be a problem with the 22 LR in a WRM.
You might make one out of a 22 WRM case. Take a Dremel or grinder and carefully grind out the back end of the case until a LR will fit flush. I have not done this, but have seen them at the range.

Thanks all, I'll try to put an order in with this mob.
I have used an MCA adapter to shoot .30 Carbine in .30-06 for years, works great. I used it in low number '03 Springfield rifles, that way I could enjoy shooting those old rifles with the worry of possibly blowing them up using '06 ammo.
