frown

I need a bunch of dental work and some medical tune up, so this and some other guns will go.

The gun has had some nice refurbishing in Germany and is as tight as a 1950's Westinghouse.

16 gauge 2 3/4" and 8X57JRS (standard .323 8mm)

It's scoped with a great Zeiss 1.5-6 in claw mounts. Proofed in 1953, so it was made the first year Sauer resumed production after the War by pre-war craftsmen.

$2250.00 plus shipping costs.

Hi Bruce,

What's it weigh, with scope and without?

John...

It's the same as the other Sauer you have. This one of the very first post war guns and has a different type extractor. It has the pre-war type without the split to raise the rifle round higher.

The gun has been re-blackened, a nitride treatment done to the receiver, and had some minor cheek scallop cracks fixed and reinforced...a very nice job, so that won't ever be an issue as is common on these, especially in the 8X57JRS and later 9,3X74R guns.

The scope is excellent and has the usual German 3-post ret. The Shuler mounts are tight and appear to be new AKAH mounts.

It has the original butt plate, very nice dark wood, and sharp fine line checkering.

It's worth $2,500-$2,600, as "S" bores are much better for reloading and not as common. These S-bores are comparable to the original 30-06 loading.

what are the stock dimensions?

thanx

14 3/8" LOP to front trigger from original Sauer butt plate. I don't have a strait edge at hand for drop and cast, but the drop is like most older guns with drop to iron sights, and it has good cast off for a RH shooter.

It's a nice gun that hasn't been "Bubbahed-Up". The lock up is tight and on face, and the claw mounts are newer and tight.

3 post reticle - Is this the 3 heavy posts on the bottom and no post on top set up??
Do the posts touch or have a fine line that touches?
