Hi all, need opinions on the centrifugal brakes on Abu Garcia round reels. I have several, all bought new about 3 years ago, wanted to take a leap of faith and try baitcasters. one has a magnetic cast control and works well. I also have a C4 and a C3, as well as a 6500 Rocket. I just took the side plates off them, and none have adjustable centrifugal brakes. I just assumed they had them. Is this pretty much just a feature of the low-profile type baitcasters? All of mine have the tension control of course, is that pretty much all the braking system they have? I am an old geeser who grew up on Zebco 33's and spinning reels, sorry for my ignorance, thanks for any opinions!
C3, C4, and Rockets should all have centifigal brakes on them. They will be on the spool on the handle side of the reel and are small white plastic blocks that "pop" into place when they are off and "pop" out and can slide in and out when they are in the on position.
OK, thanks much, now i know where to look!
