No follow up to a sad tale?

Heat/oxygen issues and nothing to be done?
The Northwest is having an abnormally dry and hot year. Snowpack is down and temps are up. It's very hard on native fish (the non native bass love it). A number of rivers and fish runs are affected. Emergency changes to fishing regulations have been put in place. Our crops are about a month ahead of a normal year. Can't wait for fall and some rain.
Given the daily water temp fluctuations and our recent heat wave, several fisheries are now closed after 2:00 PM now. The objective is to tread lightly on stressed fish.

Did a recent 5 day float for steelhead where we typically fish shaded AM/PM water with flies. Made for a rather short day with little to do in the evenings. Was hitting the sack when I'd normally be out fishing in the evenings. Hope the heat vacates soon.
