I used to have access to several ponds owned by family friends. Unfortunately, they've all died off in recent years so I haven't wet a hook in several years. Got an invite to go to a buddy's family pond today so I jumped at the chance. While he was busy pulling in bass, I worked on the "bream". After a few hours I had enough for a couple meals. Caught them on beetle-spins and rooster-tails, as well as live crickets and worms.

It doesn't get any better than farm ponds.

+1 and Bluegills are my all time favorite fish. I use ultralight spinning gear or a 3 weight fly rod.
