[size:11pt][/size]A friend sent pictures of a recent trade. It appears to be a single shot FN. No stripper clip slot. It's in a benchrest type laminated stock. No serial number but has what appear to be proof marks on action and bolt handle. Set triggers.
Does anyone have any information? Pics available by email or message.
A true single shot FN should have a bottom metal with no magazine.
There is a solid bottom on the action. It's flat from behind the recoil lug all the way back. The action is not finished to a fine surface.
If you have a DeHaas "Bolt Action Rifle" book, you can see this version discussed there.
I owned an FN single shot action many years ago, I fit a heavy barrel chambered for 6 x 47 and mated it with a laminated stock.
Thankyou gentlemen. I'd not seen such a thing before.
You have a #6 FN single shot action. I had one, foolishly sold it. It is still in my gun club, so all is not lost.
I'd grab that thing and stick like stink on a skunk. Always hoped to stumble across one. Good for you.
