It is some of the best there is!

Been great since the storm, although many marinas are still closed and sometimes its tough to find bait. I may go this afternoon if the thunderstorms don't blow up.

steve,i went out of grand chenier betwen the two hurricanes looking for specks, caught only 2 specks ,BUT,caught a ling that bottemed a 40 lb scaly at a little sattelite rig within sight of the beach, overall not too bad a trip.never been in saltwater since.just curious

Fishing is good all over. I've been fishing out of Cypremont Point - limits of reds and specks; and, Pecan Island, limits of specks and snapper and a few ling. It has slowed down some in the last couple of weeks but I'm getting good reports from Venice to Big Lake. You may want to check out louisianasportsman.com or rodnreel.com for reports.

Only problem with rodnreel.com is the guides all lie like rugs. Believe the reports posted by "civilians", discount the guides by 50% unless you know them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

We went Saturday morning...tried to go under the I-10 bridge but as usual the weatherman's 5-10 knot breeze was a steady 15 with two foot chop on the lake and nothing biting in the chocolate water. Ran into Lake Borgne and caught three dozen 11 3/4 inch throwback trout near Unknown Pass before we gave up on them. Finally got on some decent but slow fishing on the barge rig about four miles out of Shell Beach. Caught 30 in about 3 hours, mostly 15-18 inches with half a dozen over 20. Ran out of bait and they would hit plastic, but by noon it was too hot, and I decided I just wasn't that mad at those fish after all. Squalls started to build up anyway so we hauled it. Not spectacular, but a nice day with my son.
